Official Photos Now Up!
It took a while but now 116 photos of pure awesomeness from Oliver Hilbert & Theo Leach. Your all welcome to download & upload them to Facebook, tag them and do what you will with them. We have seen you all had an amazing time and we cannot wait to launch our next event in the following months with a ton of improvements.
On that note, we’d like to apologize for the long waiting time some people experienced in gaining entry into Fu & Zen, rest assured you will not have as long to wait at the next event. There was some confusion on the night re: door charge. This was a simple communication error amongst staff working on the evening, we will make sure this never happens again.
Theres always room for improvement and we will work towards eliminating any negatives from future FTM events.

__________________________Defcon1 (Breaks / Electro)
Nearly ten years ago Defcon1 began club DJing in his hometown of Sydney Australia. It turned out the boy had a knack for it, and soon enough his name became synonymous with quality underground dance music and innovated sounds, particularly for pushing forward breakbeat driven music since its emergence in the late 1990s. His now concrete reputation for always rocking the club has been well earnt, and never just assumed from having released records like so many DJs today. Coming originally from the hiphop scene, Defcon1’s combination of a feverish mash-up, cut-up DJ style and scratching with club music brought a fresh sound to the club scene which made him stick out way above the pack from the beginning. Pushing a distinct blend of breaks, house, electro and drum n bass (yep, all together!) Defcon1 landed his first residency at the world renowned Chinese Laundry club in Sydney in 2000 alongside DJs such as Ajax and Kid Kenobi, and there's just been no turning back. Since then Defcon has held down residencies in Australia's leadng clubs such as Kink and Home as well. Name checked by Ministry of Sound as one of Australia’s leading breaks DJs, he has been rocked the decks of every major club in Australia, while each summer he has been a regular feature of the festival circuit, rocking tens of thousands at festivals including the Big Day Out, Earthcore and the Bellingen Global Carnival but to name a few.
Following a move to Scotland in 2006, Defcon1 hooked up with the Chew the Fat! parties, the longest ongoing breaks night in the UK, based out of The End club in London. Here he’s held a residency DJing and helping promote the Chew the Fat! nights at Glasgow’s infamous Sub Club, playing alongside the biggest names in the global breaks and house scenes today (Stanton Warriors, Speaker Junk, Evil Nine, Layo & Bushwacka and the Utah Saints but to name a few). On top of this, he now runs the underground party ‘Beatbox’ in Glasgow with Chew the Fat! resident and all round nice guy DJ Bradley C, which has been a welcome addition to Glasgow’s already quality club scene. The Defcon1 sounds has been jumped on by the Brits, with our boy picked up for the upcoming BBC Radio1 UK-wide tour of DJ Annie Nightingale and her 'Annie's Introducing Tour', which will see Defcon1 and and rave pioneers the Utah Saints tearing it up alongside the cream of UK's breaks scene this April.
With two years of UK DJing under his belt, Defcon1 returned Down Under in 2008, bringing his hyperactive, genre-crushing blend of the freshest breaks, house, techno, fidget, baltimore club, old-school rave, drum n bass (and more!) to the clubs and festivals of New Zealand. In just under a year he has becomes a NZ crowd favorite, rocking thousands each weekend alonside acts such as the Crookers, A-track, Fake Blood and Sinden. Each friday night you can catch him on Auckland's George FM on the New School Funk radio show, 10 till midnight with DJ's Randomplay and Dalai. Operating from his secret volcano lair in Auckland, each weekend Defcon travels Aotearoa armed with naught but a collection of tunes from the future and an air-horn... catch him headlining your favorite club sometime soon.
__________________________James Ashwin & Rich Carey (Electro)
James Ashwin and Rich Carey are FASH:ON, a booty-shaking, party-starting, party-stomping duo consisting of 2 of New Zealand's most outstanding young DJs. If you ask what gets them out of bed in the morning James will respond with a love of music or some such retort. If you ask Rich, he will probably just say James' mum. But don't be fooled, these lads just want to party. Boasting individual performances and residencies at some of the countries largest dance events including Summerdayze, OUR:HOUSE, Deep Hard N Funky, and Ministry Of Sound, Rich and James' gospel of big room house, electro, and nu-rave continues to take a hold on the New Zealand scene. With support roles reading like a who's who of dance music, including superstars Paul Van Dyke, Kaskade, Ian Carey, Soul Central, Bang Gang, Mason and numerous others, their versatility is matched only by their desire to send a crowd home begging for more. Now in 2009, Rich and James have embarked on their latest project FASH:ON, a 4 deck, 2 mixer, musical extravaganza! Comprising all elements that are good from the house, electro, fidget and nu-rave genres, FASH:ON are coming to destroy the d-floor… BOOM!
